Axel’s big break came when he attended a showcase organized by SIS, where Coach Chuck Moore of Richard Bland College recognized his potential. This pivotal moment led to Axel receiving a scholarship to play in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball league—one of the most competitive college basketball leagues in the country.

At Richard Bland College, Axel quickly made an impact as a forward/center. Competing at the NJCAA Division I level, he played in 17 games during his freshman year, averaging 2.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. His ability to hit from beyond the arc, with a 50.0% three-point shooting percentage, and his solid free-throw accuracy of 72.2% highlighted his versatility and growth as a player.

Ana’s defensive skills were unmatched, leading her to set a single-season record with an astonishing 93 blocks, ranking her fourth nationwide. Her exceptional performance earned her the prestigious title of Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Academic Achievements in Science 

Parallel to her athletic career, Ana pursued her passion for science, majoring in Chemistry and Biology at Missouri Valley College. Her academic dedication was recognized when she was honored as one of the top scholars during a ceremony at the college’s Malcolm Center. To be named an MVC Scholar, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 and receive a faculty recommendation, a distinction Ana achieved with distinction.

Future Aspirations: A PhD from The Ohio State University 

Ana’s ambition doesn’t stop at Missouri Valley College. She has been accepted into the PhD program in Microbiology at The Ohio State University, slated to begin in May 2029.
