A local opportunity combining football and education
SIS Scholarships, an organisation that helps student-athletes pursue educational and sporting opportunities in the United States, is inviting footballers from London and the surrounding area to a free football trial on Wednesday 21 October 2026.
Open to players aged 14 to 26, the event forms part of the selection process for the SIS Showcase 2027 and High School Programme. It is aimed at young people interested in continuing their education in the USA while developing their football.
The trial will take place at Barnhill Community High School (Astro Pitch), Yeading Lane, Hayes, London Borough of Hillingdon, UB4 9LE. Check-in opens at 16:30, with the on-pitch session running from 17:00 to 18:30.
Two pathways to study and play in the USA
Depending on their age, academic stage, footballing ability and study goals, selected players can explore two different programmes:
University pathway SIS Showcase 2027For players interested in studying at a US university and competing in university football. The Showcase in Madrid provides an opportunity to be evaluated by US university coaches and pursue athletic and academic scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are competitive and are not guaranteed. | High School pathway High School ProgrammeFor younger student-athletes interested in completing their secondary education at a high school in the United States while continuing to train and compete in football, with options suited to their academic stage and sporting profile. |
The London trial is completely free, with no obligation to continue. Players whose profiles meet the selection criteria will be invited to discuss their academic background, interests and next steps with the SIS team.
From London to the SIS Showcase in Madrid
The London event is part of the selection process for the 12th International SIS Showcase, taking place in Madrid in July 2027.
The Showcase brings together selected student-athletes and US university coaches and sporting professionals, giving players the opportunity to demonstrate their ability, present their academic profile and explore scholarship opportunities within the American university system.
